Roma head coach Jose Mourinho has revealed that Tottenham Hotspur are the only team he does not have deep feelings for.

The Portuguese became the manager of Spurs in 2019 and spent two seasons at the club before he was sacked by chairman Daniel Levy in 2021.

Mourinho could not achieve much with the Tottenham team but led them to the Carabao Cup final against Man City. However, he could not lead the team because he was sacked before the final.

Jose Mourinho has opened up on his time at Spurs claiming he did not have any closeness during his two years with the club.

Mourinho explains his feelings at Tottenham

The 60-year-old has expressed how he feels during his managerial stay at Tottenham and hopes the Spurs fans don't read any meaning to his comment.

Speaking at a media event ahead of Roma’s Europa League final against Sevilla, Mourinho said, “Look, the reality is — I hope the Tottenham fans don’t get me wrong — but the only club in my career where I still don’t have a deep feeling is Tottenham.

“Probably because the stadium was empty (during) COVID time. Probably because Mr Levy didn’t let me win a final and win a trophy, but it’s the only one.”

Over his career, Mourinho has overseen 10 teams, including Inter Milan, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Real Madrid and has won 26 trophies.

Tottenham still looking for Conte’s replacement

Tottenham are still looking for a new manager after the sacking of Antonio Conte in March and has been linked with several high-profile names.

Arne Slot, the manager of Feyenoord, is the latest candidate to be linked with Spurs' managerial position including Roberto De Zerbi and Luis Enrique.

However, it is said that Slot will remain with Feyenoord this season after leading them to the Eredivisie title.

This Sunday, Spurs will play away at Leeds United. To earn a spot in the European Conference League for the upcoming season, they must win their game against Leeds and hope Brighton defeats Aston Villa.
