AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli is reportedly now favourite to be named Napoli next coach.

AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli could be on his way from Milan to Naples as the new boss at dethroned champions SSC Napoli.

Pulse Sports Nigeria reports that the former Serie A winner could swap one Nigerian Samuel Chukwueze for another Victor Osimhen ahead of the next season according to reports.

According to a Football Italia report, the Milan boss is favourite to take over the managerial role at Napoli after what has been a poor campaign.

The Partenopei made history last season inspired by their Nigerian icon, Osimhen, when they won the Scudetto for the first time in 33 years.

However, they struggled to defend the coveted crown following the departure of enigmatic coach Lucianio Spalletti.

Despite retaining most of the players who led the club to the historic victory in the 2022/23 season, Napoli failed to put up a decent title defence and currently look set to also miss out on Champions League football next season.

Osimhen and his Napoli teammates have already seen three managerial changes and could see the arrival of Pioli from Milan.

Former Juventus boss Antonio Conte, per the report, was the favourite to land the job but it appears that has now gone cold sparking speculation that the clu has now switched attention to Milan.

Pioli’s contract with the Rossonerri runs till the summer of 2025, but that could be the least of troubles standing on the way as Milan are expected to move on from the 59-year-old at the end of the season.

Should all go to play, Pioli is expected to put pen to paper on a three-year contract to receive the fortunes of Napoli after a disappointing 2023/24 season.
