Spain legend has declared support for Ronaldo to win 2026 FIFA World Cup
Barcelona legend Carles Puyol has expressed strong confidence in Cristiano Ronaldo and the Portugal national team, tipping them as major favorites to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Puyol, a World Cup winner himself in 2010, believes that Roberto Martínez's squad has shown formidable strength, particularly after their recent triumph in the UEFA Nations League final.
Puyol was asked directly if Ronaldo and his teammates could secure their first-ever World Cup title.

"Yes, that's how I see it," Puyol replied via TUDN.
He continued, "They have a very good national team. Their players play for big clubs and win a lot of titles. They are very competitive and have a good coach... As things stand today, I think they are a very dangerous team."
Portugal recently won the Nations League final in Germany at the beginning of June 2025. They overcame Germany 2-1 in the semi-finals before defeating Spain 5-3 on penalties in a thrilling final.
