The former Gor Mahia defender had to go through humiliation as he was subbed off at half time, although it is unclear why considering he did have a decent, if unspectacular, showing.

Harambee Stars left back Eric ‘Marcelo’ Ouma featured but was unable to help AIK avoid defeat against high flying Haken in an Allsveskan match played on Sunday afternoon.

AIK were gunned down 2-0, bringing an end to their recent good run of three wins in four league matches, which leaves their security from relegation far from guaranteed.

The former Gor Mahia defender had to go through humiliation as he was subbed off at half time, although it is unclear why considering he did have a decent, if unspectacular, showing.

He was accurate with 13 of his 17 attempted passes and took on his man successfully, albeit just once. He was fouled three times, as opponents were wary of his excellent ball carrying ability.

Off the ball, he won three of his four attempted ground duels, and was successful with his solitary attempted aerial duel.

0-0 at the break, AIK’s solidity was dismantled in the 63rd minute when Edward Chilufya got on the end of a Mikkel Rygaard Jensen assist to put the hosts ahead.

Chilufya would add his second of the night in the 77th minute, assisted by Amor Layouni, which set the game set and match for the third-placed side, who are firmly in the race for the title on 50 points, two behind leaders Malmo, although they have played one game more.

AIK are just one point above the relegation playoff place, but have five games to still secure safety, having already endured an underwhelming and unprecedented season.

The fans will be hoping that they will not be relegated from the division which they last won in 2018.
