Manchester United players are angry after the club reportedly discontinued free tickets and hospitality for staff family members due to cost-cutting measures.

Manchester United players are reportedly displeased after the club announced that their families would not be catered for during the FA Cup final against Manchester City.

What happened

According to a report from the Daily Star, Manchester United's new co-owners, INEOS, have been cutting budgets everywhere they can to streamline the club’s finances.

These cuts will affect the players as well, as their families will no longer be getting the usual perks. For the FA Cup final in Wembley, Manchester United will not fly members of the player's families, nor will they supply free tickets or hotel rooms.

This will also affect the non-playing employees. The over 1000 members of staff only get a single free ticket and no extras for their family members and they will have to pay an extra £20 for transportation.

Manchester United players unhappy

According to the Mirror, the club offered to arrange for hospitality or private boxes for the families; however, the players will have to pay for it.

A ticket for a single family member of the family will set an individual player back by about £1000–£2000. The available tickets are also suggested to be limited and will be on a first come, first served basis.

The players are said to be unhappy about this new development and are especially mad about the medium through which the message was conveyed; through text.
