Manchester United face FC Copenhagen in a Champions League tie that they must win or face the prospect of exiting at the group stage

Manchester United cannot afford not to beat FC Copenhagen in their third Champions League group stage game of the season on Tuesday.

A 4-3 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich, the scoreline of which flattered United, was followed by a 3-2 losss to Galatasaray at Old Trafford, which the Turkish giants deservedly won.

It leaves United bottom of Group A and needing to win three of their final four games, and for Bayern Munich to do them a couple favours, to have any chance of reaching the knockout stage.

Team news

That starts with Copenhagen's visit to Old Trafford Tuesday night, which should hopefully see the return to the starting line-up of both Raphael Varane and Sergio Reguilon. Casemiro, though, is suspended.

Reguilon has been out with a hamstring injury for a month but resumed team training last week. With fellow left-backs Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia out for the foreseeable, Victor Lindelof has deputised.

Ten Hag told reporters: "Sergio was fit [on Friday], trained all last week and yesterday he was part of training and today he will train and we have to assess if he is ready and game fit and can be involved in the squad. We have to see if he is fit enough to be available."

Tuesday's match will see Rasmus Hojlund come up against his former team Copenhagen, and Ten Hag backed the United striker to add to the two goals he scored in a Champions League loss to Galatasaray earlier this month.

"He's always playing in scoring positions in our team and I'm confident [he will score goals], as well for Marcus Rashford the same," Ten Hag said.

Elsewhere, Antony could again start after the weekend win over Sheffield United.
