The Red Devils have been pursuing the African star and are now close to landing their summer target.

Manchester United are expected to seal Andre Onana's signing in the next 72 hours, according to reports.

The Red Devils have been in talks with Inter Milan over the possible transfer of the 27-year-old Cameroonian, and Gazzetta Dello Sport now reports the move could be officially made public in the next couple of hours.

With David de Gea's exit now official, United are keen to get a replacement soon, and it is expected that Onana will be the one, with the deal set to be finalized by Wednesday.

United have been pushing for a new number one after De Gea's 12-season stint at Old Trafford came to an end after the club failed to extend his contract.

While talks with De Gea were ongoing, the club was also negotiating with Inter over the former Ajax goalkeeper. United are said to be ready to meet Inter's asking price as the Spaniard's exit has forced them to accelerate the move.

The Serie A club is set to make €50 million, including bonuses for the sale of the Cameroonian. The cash will boost the Italian club's financial muscle in the transfer window, and given that they signed Onana as a free agent last window, the cash from the sale would represent a good business move on their part.

Onana instantly became a top player for Inter and helped the Serie A outfit reach the Champions League final last season. His arrival at Old Trafford is expected to give United's push for titles new impetus.

Meanwhile, Inter are focusing on Anatolij Trubin, Yann Sommer, and Hugo Lloris as potential replacements for Onana.
