The World Cup finalist with France dreams of playing in boxing day fixtures in the Premier League

Manchester United and Chelsea target Axel Disasi has spoken in glowing terms about the Premier League with a view to a summer move from Monaco

Disasi admits to admiring Premier League

Disasi who played in the final of the 2022 FIFA World Cup is one of the most sought-after centre-backs in Europe and has attracted interest from top clubs in the English top division.

Disasi’s impressive form with Monaco in Ligue 1 has already seen him become a regular France international and has also ensured that his name is on the lips of most top clubs seeking a solution at centre-back.

Ahead of Monaco’s weekend Ligue 1 tie against Lorient, the 25-year-old Monaco defender has spoken about possibly playing in the Premier League soon, saying he dreams of a boxing day fixture.

Speaking with GFFN, Disasi said, “The Premier League? Everyone knows the quality, the passion, and the spectacle that there is in this championship.

“For all players that like football, this championship will speak to them. It’s true that when I say these things, there are flashes in my head of Boxing Day and things like this. But, as I said, we’re not there yet”

Disasi optimistic about Monaco’s Ligue 1 chances

Despite his longing for the bright lights of the Premier League, DIsasi is fully focused on Monaco’s quest for a UEFA Champions League slot ahead of next season, and hopes he can help them finish in the top two of the Ligue 1 this season to qualify.

Speaking on Monaco’s chances of making the UCL next season, Disasi said, “I’m a very optimistic person. I want to qualify for the Champions League because we’re not there yet. I’m focused on the end of the season, and we’ll see after. I’m 100% committed to the eight matches to come.

"It won’t be easy. We have direct competitors that are playing well. It’s up to us to put in the effort to meet the objectives, and we’ll see what happens after that,”

The in-demand defender could be allowed to leave Monaco in the summer for as much as €50 million.
