Paqueta’s transfer to Man City from West Ham may no longer go through according to recent reports.

Pep Guardiola’s side are looking to add another midfielder to their ranks after the recent injury to Kelvin De Bruyne and the sales of some of their players.

They have identified Paqueta as a good fit for the team and have made a move to sign the midfielder from West Ham.

City had reportedly agreed personal terms with the Brazilian but are yet to agree a transfer fee with West Ham.

West Ham are reportedly asking for £85 million for the midfielder but City are yet to meet their valuation.

However, according to recent reports, the chances of Man City signing Paqueta this summer are becoming low.

Paqueta’s deal on hold

According to Sky Sports as reported by Daily Star, Paqueta's transfer to City is currently "on hold," and they have given him a 90% chance of staying at West Ham.

A few weeks ago, it was reported that Manchester City was close to signing the Brazilian midfielder Paqueta.

Paqueta has been a consistent starter for West Ham and was influential for them last season, helping them win the UEFA Conference League.

He was also an important player for Brazil at the FIFA World Cup despite only reaching the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, Man City are also looking at other transfer targets before the end of the transfer window in September.

Dani Olmo of RB Leipzig has also been linked to City, and the German team has already done business with City during the summer transfer window.

With Man City dealt a huge blow as Kevin De Bruyne would be missing a significant amount of games this season, Pep Guardiola will be looking to bring in a midfielder before the transfer window ends.
