Romelu Lukaku could be forced to overlook his history with Inter to sign for the Nerazzurri's fierce rivals AC Milan
Chelsea forward Romelu Lukaku, currently on loan at Inter, could betray his current employers by signing with fierce rivals AC Milan, according to reports in Italy.
Lukaku nearing Inter exit
Lukaku spent the 2022/23 season on loan at Inter, helping the Nerazzurri to the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana trophies as well as the final of the UEFA Champions League final despite suffering a number of injuries during his loan spell.
With the Belgian’s loan contract with Inter set to come to an end in the month, Lukaku’s future has become a matter of speculation, with the striker intent on remaining at Inter, but the Nerazzurri clearly unable to finance a permanent transfer from Chelsea.
The situation has opened the door to other possibilities for Lukaku, who has received offers from oil-rich Saudi Arabia, which has already signed a number of Chelsea players this transfer window.
AC Milan looking to sign Lukaku
Lukaku has also received an offer from Inter’s fierce rivals AC Milan, with the Rossoneri already meeting the Belgian striker’s representatives to iron out details of a possible transfer this summer.

With Milan set to receive a financial windfall from the sale of midfielder Sandro Tonali to Newcastle for a reported fee above €50 million, they could be in a much better position to guarantee Chelsea financial compensation for their striker, making them front-runners for a Lukaku deal.
If the only choices offered to Lukaku are Milan and a Saudi Arabian club, it is believed that the Belgian striker would reject the offer to move to Asia in order to continue to play at a competitive level in Europe.
