Muguna is unfazed by being “singled out” after Kenya Police's underwhelming start to the season although he has had a decent individual outing for his new side.

Kenya Police FC midfielder Kenneth Muguna insists he is not feeling the pressure of being singled out for criticism as one of the side’s star players since joining from Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC in July.

The Law Enforcers have started the league slowly, winning just one of their opening five league games, which has dented their hopes of going for their maiden FKFPL title despite investing heavily to improve the quality of the team.

Muguna is unfazed by being “singled out” when the team performs poorly, although he has had a decent individual outing for his new side, scoring two goals in each of his last two league appearances.

Under new coach Zdravko Logarušić, the side overcame Bidco United on Saturday afternoon to give them all three points that could hopefully kickstart their season in their quest to win the league.

“Life has not been easy because when teams come to play against Police, they are coming with all their might against us,” Muguna told Pulse Sports.

“It has not been easy, but this win will hopefully give us the kickstart we need and we hope we will continue like that.

“It has been there (criticism). I have been playing the same way though if the team is not playing well, some of the players have to be singled out and it turns out I am one of them.

“I do not have a problem with that though because I am here to carry out the responsibility of (winning games) for the team and I hope Police fans have gone home smiling.”

Muguna insists that the club intends to win its first title this season, placing his unwavering faith in the current group of players, believing they are the ones who can win Police the title.

“The aim is to win the trophy. We hope this is just the start of it. We know there are teams who have been in that situation and have won the league before and it is not easy, they are more experienced than us.

“We are here to try and everything is possible. We have faith that this is the group that will win Kenya Police the title this year.”

Police will face Nairobi City Stars in their sixth league game of the season next weekend.
