Germany international Karim Adeyemi speaks up in the defence of his girlfriend Loredana.

Karim Adeyemi, Borussia Dortmund's dynamic forward, has stepped up to the plate, defending his partner, Albanian music sensation Loredana, against the critics linking her to his fluctuating form in the 2023-24 season.

The German international, who began dating Loredana in mid-2023, has been under the spotlight since then, with his on-pitch performances coming under scrutiny. While acknowledging the challenges of a high-profile relationship, Adeyemi firmly separates his personal life from his professional responsibilities.

Adeyemi Speaks Out: Personal Life and Professional Form

Adeyemi, in a candid interview with Dortmund’s official YouTube channel, addressed the unwarranted criticism aimed at Loredana.

He stated, “I knew what I was getting myself into, that she was a person in the public eye, but I found it crazy that people react like that after a bad game. Not unfair against me because I didn’t play well. It's unfair to my girlfriend.

“It has nothing to do with how I play and perform on the pitch. Sometimes I find it strange how some people take the liberty of judging people they don’t know.”

A Season of Struggles and New Challenges

Despite a promising start, Adeyemi has had limited starts in the Bundesliga this season, with only three appearances in the starting lineup.

His last game was on December 13, sidelined thereafter due to an injury. Reflecting on his performance, Adeyemi expressed dissatisfaction: “It wasn’t a good first half of the season. I’m not happy with myself.”

Compounding Adeyemi's challenge to reclaim his form is Dortmund's recent strategic move. The club has re-signed Jadon Sancho on loan from Manchester United, a decision poised to inject creativity into the squad.
