Argentine superstar Lionel Messi talks about his relationship with Paris Saint-Germain fans.

Lionel Messi looked back on his fractured relationship with Paris Saint-Germain fans and how their relationship evolved during his two-year stay.

The 36-year-old ran down his PSG contract, despite having a renewal offer on the table, and is now a player for MLS side Inter Miami.

The Argentine superstar was regularly subjected to jeers by sections of the Parisien fanbase. He now speaks about the dynamics after leaving the club.

What Messi said

As Pulse Sports reported previously, Messi revealed in an interview with Bein Sports that he joined PSG because he liked the club and because his friends and national teammates were there.

In the same interview, the former Barcelona man opened up about his relationship with the PSG fanbase, explaining that he received a lot of support from them at the start.

However, things changed along the way. Messi attributed this to the club's fan culture, as he pointed out that his former teammates Neymar and Mbappe have also been on the receiving end of such treatment.

“A majority treated me well at the start, but there was a fracture with a significant section of the Parisian public,” Messi said, per GFFN.

“These are things that have happened with Neymar and Kylian Mbappé in the past he underlines, It’s their way of doing things.”
