‘I'm still cooking’ - Chukwueze tells Bassey after Super Eagles star presented first Fulham award

The Super Eagles winger had a standout performance in the club's 1-0 victory against Sunderland last weekend.

Coming off the bench in the 64th minute, the Nigerian international made an immediate impact, delivering the crucial assist for Raúl Jiménez's winning goal.

Following his impact, he was presented with an award by his Nigerian teammate, Calvin Bassey, at the club's training ground.

In a video posted on Fulham's official X account, Bassey congratulated his teammate, saying, "Hey, my guy, you're the Caribbean legend of the game. Congrats, my bro."

When asked how he felt about the recognition, Chukwueze confidently replied, "First of many... I'm cooking. 

“You know, I'm still cooking. I need to make it well done, you know. It's still medium rare. I need to cook this very well. Thank you."

The Royal Caribbean Legend of the Game award is given to players who deliver outstanding individual performances that directly influence a match's outcome. 

Chukwueze's creative impact earned him the accolade, which was presented by his fellow professional at the team's training facility.

The forward will be looking to get a start in Fulham’s next game against Tottenham, when they travel to White Hart Lane, this weekend
