Onome Ebi has reminded Nigerians that she remains the captain of the nation's women's national side, the Super Falcons.

The 40-year-old defender has her name etched in the history books as the only African player (male or female) to feature at six editions of the FIFA World Cup.

I am still Super Falcons captain - Ebi declares

Since her return to the NWFL, Onome Ebi's name has been missing from the list of players invited by the team's acting head coach, Justin Madugu, to prosecute in the last two Super Falcons games.

Super Falcons’ captain Onome Ebi has been criticized for for not retiring after the World Cup

"Whoever the coach calls to the Super Falcons at this time is best for the team; all I will say is that I am 100% with my team, and I am still the captain of the team.

"If am there or not, I am with them, and I believe that people who are there now can do justice," she told Pulse Sports.

Onome Ebi, who captains Naija Ratels added that she is still with the team and believes in them despite defeat against Dannaz Ladies in NWFL Matchday Two.
