Erling Haaland seems unable to stop himself from smashing Premier League records after taking another one with his goal against Liverpool

Manchester City’s Erling Haaland added another cap to his Premier League feather after breaking another league record with his goal against Liverpool.

Haaland scores fastest goal number 50

Haaland opened the scoring for the reigning champions against Liverpool with an assured finish into the bottom corner, and in doing so, he helped himself to a new Premier League milestone.

The goal for Haaland against Liverpool was the 50th goal of the Norwegian’s short Premier League career and made him the fastest player in the competition’s history to reach that landmark after only 48 games.

Haaland beat the existing record held by Manchester United great Andy Cole and also surpassed marks set by some of the competition’s most heralded goal scorers.

Haaland soars above Premier League greats

Cole achieved 50 Premier League goals after an incredible 65 games, one less than Alan Shearer’s 66 matches.

Another Manchester United icon, Ruud van Nistelrooy, scored 50 Premier League goals after only 68 matches with the Red Devils, while two Liverpool favourites are tied in fifth as Mohamed Salah and Fernando Torres both reached the 50-goal mark after 72 matches each.

Haaland’s 50 goals have come in less than a season and a half with Manchester City, and the former Borussia Dortmund forward has already smashed a number of Premier League goal records. Given his form at the moment, it is unlikely that he will stop breaking records in the competition any time soon.
