Arsenal takes a trip to Merseyside Liverpool on Sunday as they continue their title charge in a crucial Premier League clash.

This weekend, Arsenal travels to Liverpool in a difficult effort to keep their lead in the Premier League. After winning their seventh straight league game on Saturday, Arsenal are eight points ahead of Manchester City at the top of the standings.

However, Liverpool continues to pose a challenge for Mikel Arteta's team despite their disappointing season on the pitch. After thumping Man United 7-0 last month, the Merseysiders have fallen behind in the race for a top-four finish, having lost their past four games.

Arsenal are considered favourites to defeat Jurgen Klopp's team. However, they are still unsure of the availability of William Saliba. After limping off during the Europa League loss to Sporting CP last month, the Frenchman has only been absent from two league games this season.

Speaking in an interview, Arteta said, "He is progressing, unfortunately he still has some discomfort in his back. He’s not gonna be fit for this game and we’re trying to do everything to feel better, but not yet.”

Arteta is optimistic that Saliba will still feature for Arsenal before the end of the season. The Arsenal manager did provide some rays of light, he said, "Yeah, I am very hopeful and he is as well.

"Back injuries are a bit tricky and how they evolve with the load that you put in certain areas. Let's push it and see how he copes with that. He's so willing to be back in the team."

Arsenal's Injury problem still lingers

Eddie Nketiah, Arsenal's striker, won't be travelling with the team to Anfield. Since the 4-0 victory over Everton at the beginning of March, the England under-21 forward has been out with injury.

Still speaking, Arteta said, "He's still in the boot. He's still a few weeks away and we need to be patient.

"It was a nasty injury and he has a big challenge ahead of him. Thank God it could have been worse. So he's not in a bad place."

With their ongoing ailments, Takerhiro Tomiyasu and Mohamed Elneny are both expected to miss the remainder of the season.

Ben White and Bukayo Saka, despite having issues against Leeds, are anticipated to be alright. There have been no indications that either player will miss out despite having played in the victory last Saturday.

Meanwhile, Arsenal and England winger Bukayo Saka took to Instagram to rave over Davido's Timeless album. Bukayo Saka becomes the latest celebrity to rave over Davido's new album, as he took to his Instagram story to share one of the songs on the project.
