Shabana face Sofapaka in a crucial FKF Premier League match as both teams continue with their battle avoid relegation.

Shabana and their battle to avoid relegation from the top-tier league will take center stage in the FKF Premier League this weekend.

The Glamour Boys find themselves in a precarious position as they face Sofapaka in a critical showdown at Kenyatta Stadium in Machakos on Saturday afternoon.

Having ascended back to the top flight this season after a lengthy 17-year absence Shabana's return has been marred by the looming specter of relegation.

Currently sitting in 17th place on the league table they are just three points behind their upcoming opponent  Sofapaka who are only one spot away from the drop zone.

With only seven matches remaining every point now could be the difference between staying up and going down.

The Batoto ba Mungu also find themselves in a tight spot following their disheartening 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Kenya Police in last weekend's FKF Cup quarter-finals and they are keen to bounce back and secure their league status.

Shabana’s coach, Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo, remains optimistic and committed to the survival campaign.

"We’re working around the clock to do everything possible to ensure that we’re not relegated. It’s tough, but I’d like to assure our fans that we won’t disappoint them. We will stay in KPL; we will not be relegated," Omollo said in a recent interview as AfricaTopSports.

The stakes are similarly high for other teams in the relegation mix.

Muhoroni, currently placed 16th with 26 points, will be hosting Bidco United in another crucial relegation face-off.

A win for Muhoroni could potentially lift them above Sofapaka adding even more pressure on the latter to perform against Shabana.

The first-round meeting between Shabana and Sofapaka at Homabay Stadium had ended in a resounding 4-1 victory for the Glamour Boys.
