Manchester United looking to extend the contract of promising young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo this summer, with the club's owners, INEOS, wanting him to be one of the faces of their new project at Old Trafford.

 In a move to secure the long-term future of one of their brightest young talents, Manchester United are now pushing to extend the contract of midfielder Kobbie Mainoo by this summer, according to renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

The 18-year-old Mainoo has been a revelation for the Red Devils this season, making a significant impact in his debut campaign. The young midfielder has scored two goals in 18 Premier League appearances and has also earned two caps for the England national team.

Romano reports that the club's new owners, INEOS, are keen on making Mainoo one of the faces of their new project at Old Trafford. As a result, United are now in advanced talks to extend Mainoo's contract, which initially began in February.

"Manchester United are now pushing in talks to extend Kobbie Mainoo's contract by this summer after initial discussions in February," Romano stated on social media.

"INEOS want Kobbie to be one of the faces of the new project. The new deal would see a salary increase for Mainoo plus several add-ons," he added in the post.

The news will come as a major boost for Manchester United fans, who have been impressed by Mainoo's performances this season. The young midfielder has seamlessly transitioned into the first team and has quickly become an integral part of Erik ten Hag's plans.
