Harambee Stars midfielder Eric Johana had a decent individual performance in his first 90-minute game for Romanian side UTA Arad but could not help them avoid defeat to Politehnica

Eric Johana completed 90 minutes for the first time in his UTA Arad career but could not help his side beat FC Politehnica on Friday evening.

Johana did have a decent individual performance. He completed two out of three successful dribbles, and made two key passes as he attempted to build on from his last league performance when he produced two assists.

However, his performance was not enough as Arad lost 1-0 the home side, who needed a strike from Shayon Harrison to give them all the three points and leapfrog UTA into 11th place in the standings after 19 games.

Johana committed to a two-season deal with the club having signed from Thailand side Muangthong United in September and has so far made seven appearances for UTA.

UTA Arad, is a club that has a rich history, dating back to its establishment in 1945 under the name IT Arad.

Historically, UTA are one of the most accomplished football clubs in Romania, especially during the 20th century.

Born on August 18, 1994, in Nairobi, Kenya, Johana commenced his football journey in his homeland with Mathare United.

His European adventure began in the Swedish championship, where he played for Vasalunds IF, Brommapojkarna, and Jönköpings Södra.

His footballing odyssey also took him to Belgium, representing Beveren, before making the move to Muangthong United in Thailand in July 2022, where he left an indelible mark with an impressive goal tally.
