The Harambee Stars right-back netted his first-ever goal for Viborg in their convincing win on Sunday.

Harambee Stars right back Daniel Anyembe was on target as Viborg secured a comfortable 3-0 win over Hvidovre to get their Danish Superliga relegation playoff campaign off to a flier.

Anyembe, who is yet to complete a full 90 minutes for both club and country since his return from injury, found the target in the 58th minute nonchalantly after showing great composure inside the box before drilling a left-footed shot into the bottom right corner of the net in the 58th minute.

The goal capped off a good 83-minute spell on the pitch.

In the 23rd minute, Viborg took the lead  through Isak Jensen after he  intercepted a kick-out from Hvidovre goalkeeper Adrian Kappenberger, before the Denmark U21 slotted it home to give them the lead at the break.

Anyembe then netted his maiden goal for the club in sublime style in the 58th minute.  Jensen broke through the left flank before cutting a diagonal ball towards the Harambee Stars defender, who received the ball to feet before nonchalantly dribbling past two defenders and then finding the back of the net.

Jensen  then scored his second of the night five minutes later to effectively give them the 3-0 win.

Elsewhere, Harambee Stars captain Michael Olunga featured for Al Duhail but could not repeat his goalscoring heroics for Kenya in their 2-0 defeat to Al Rayan on Sunday night.

In Armenia, Alwyn Luheni Tera featured for 84 minutes as Ararat Armenia beat Shirak 1-0 to keep tabs on league leaders Pyunik. Amos Nondi was left out of the squad.

Ararat are four points behind Pyunik after 26 games and will be fancying their chances of clinching the title.
