The speedy winger has revealed the reason AFC Leopards have struggled to win their last two matches and has rallied his teammates to work hard in training to abate the problem.

AFC Leopards vice captain Cliff Nyakeya revealed what has prevented the club from getting maximum points in each of their last two FKFPL games against Kenya Police FC and Shabana respectively.

Ingwe are yet to win a single game this season, drawing four and losing one of their opening five fixtures, and in their last two games, they have dropped two points from winning positions, which has counted dear against them.

Against Police, they went ahead twice, but could not hang on to their lead at Kasarani, and both sides had to leave Kasarani sharing the spoils.

Against Shabana at the Ulinzi Sports Complex a week later, it was still the same situation, where Ingwe went ahead, but could not hang on to their lead.

The speedy winger has revealed the reason AFC Leopards have struggled to win their last two matches and has rallied his teammates to work hard in training to abate the problem.

“We dropped two points. We wanted to win this (Shabana) game. We had prepared ourselves for it and we had a chance to win when we went up, but we dropped two points unfortunately,” Nyakeysa told Pulse Sports.

“Another game we did not get a win. We have to go back to training and work hard and see if we will get a win.”

Although the Harambee Stars winger is frustrated not to get a win, he is at least pleased by the progress the side have made in terms of starting to find the back of the net after failing to score in their first three league games.

“There has been progress. If you look at the last two games, what has cost us is a lack of concentration in crucial phases of the game. These are two games we should have won. Just losing a little concentration has cost us so far.”

AFC Leopards will face Gor Mahia in a much anticipated Mashemeji Derby this Saturday hoping to make amends for their disappointing league start by getting their first win of the season.

Should Leopards win that match, it will only be the second time they have beaten their sworn rivals Gor in a league outing since 2016.

Ingwe sit 15th on four points, nine behind league leaders Posta Rangers.
