‘Chelsea don stain him white’ — Fans react to Sterling’s first draw against Bournemouth

Before Chelsea, Raheem Sterling had won every match he played against Bournemouth

Chelsea’s 0-0 draw against Bournemouth at the Vitality stadium left everyone associated with the club disappointed, but few could have been as disappointed as forward Raheem Sterling.

Sterling slumps to first draw against Bournemouth

The England international saw his 15-game winning streak against the Cherries, which dates back to his Manchester City spell, end with a disappointing draw on Sunday, despite the forward’s best efforts.

Sterling was one of Chelsea’s better performers and even came close to scoring when his freekick thundered off the underside of the crossbar, but like many of his Blues teammates, he was unable to find the back of the net and had to endure dropping points against Bournemouth for the first time in his career.

Fans pile on Chelsea for ruining Sterling’s record

Fans have reacted to Sterling’s grave disappointment by pointing out that the only reason that this has happened to the English forward is his decision to join Chelsea from Manchester City last summer.

Users on social media platform X have used the opportunity to pile on more misery on Chelsea, calling them an unfortunate club by bringing Sterling bad luck and ending his magnificent streak.

Some have also lamented bringing Sterling into their FPL teams ahead of the Bournemouth game, as they expected him to produce some magic against his favourtite opponents, while others have lambasted the former Liverpool winger for the draw, calling him the worst player on the pitch against Bournemouth.

In all this, Sterling would be keen to move on from the disappointment to help his side recover from a recent slump that has seen them win only one game this season, against newly promoted Luton Town, no less.
