Nimfasha Berchimas has scored three goals in two matches at the ongoing FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Indonesia, with his latest sending Burkina Faso home.

American youngster Nimfasha Berchimas has broken the hearts of Africans after his goal confirmed Burkina Faso’s exit from the 2023 FIFA under-17 World Cup.

Berchimas netted the decisive winner as the United States of America defeated Burkina Faso's U17s 2-1 in their second game at the ongoing U17WC hosted by Indonesia.

Both goals earned him an exalted spot in the history books of the USA as he replaced former wonderkid Freddie Adu.

Berchimas is now the youngest American to score for the US at the FIFA under-17 World Cup since Adu achieved that feat in 2003.

Burkina Faso heartbreak

Buoyed by the display against the Koreans in Jakarta, the sensational forward was on the score sheet three days later.

Berchimas and his American brothers were too good for a spirited Burkina Faso side during their second game on Wednesday.

A quick-fire double just before the break, first from Keyrol Figueroa in the 45th minute, and a second from Berchimas in added time handed the US a second win in as many matches to book a spot in the next round.

Jack Diarra pulled one back, a consolation, in the 89th minute for Burkina Faso, who almost snatched a point in added time.
