Ansu Fati believes Brighton can upstage bigger clubs like Manchester United, Chelsea, and Arsenal and has set sky-high goals for the Seagulls to achieve during his loan spell

Spanish forward Ansu Fati, currently on loan at Brighton from LaLiga giant Barcelona, has revealed the Premier League side’s lofty objectives for the new season, which he hopes to help them achieve.

Ansu Fati joins Brighton on a loan deal from Barcelona

Ansu Fati, who came on to the football scene as a fresh-faced teenager for Barcelona and broke a number of records in his first few games for the club, was considered surplus to requirements at the Blaugrana for the 2023/24 season after a series of injuries negatively impacted his development.

He has found a temporary home in the Premier League with Brighton, and the Spain international has already started to settle into the club and take in their goals for the current campaign.

Although Fati’s association with Brighton is expected to be brief, the former youngest-ever Spain international still appears to have lofty ambitions for the club and spoke as though he intended to stay for longer than his one-year loan deal stipulates.

Ansu Fati sets huge Brighton objectives

Ansu Fati is quoted by transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano as saying, “I want to have a really great season at Brighton — fight for the team, try to qualify for Europe again like they did last year.”

He elaborated on his hopes for the team by adding, “If we can qualify for the Champions League, that would be even better.”

If Brighton are able to reach the UEFA Champions League despite competition from bigger clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, Arsenal, Tottenham, and  Chelsea, it will be seen as the biggest achievement in the club’s history and could be enough to convince Ansu Fati to join them on a more permanent basis.
