Barcelona have reportedly identified five players who need to leave the club before they depart for a pre-season tour of the USA

LaLiga giants Barcelona are reportedly keen on finding exits for five players before the club head to the United States of America to begin pre-season training on Wednesday.

The Blaugrana currently have a bloated squad with more players than manager Xavi is willing to handle, and they have only a few days to trim the squad with five players expected to leave this summer.

Barcelona are reportedly seeking deals for players like Clement Lenglet and Sergino Dest, who spent the 2022/23 season out on loan, as well as Alex Collado, Franck Kessie, and Pablo Torre, who is expected to leave on loan to Girona as part of a deal bringing La Masia graduate Oriol Romeu back to the club.

All five players are not currently part of Xavi’s vision for the team and will have to make way, especially if the club intends to sign more players this summer.

Barcelona looking to bolster squad with funds from sales

Barcelona have already completed the signings of ex-Manchester City captain Ilkay Gundogan, Inigo Martinez from Athletic Club, and Brazilian striker Vitor Roque, who joins in January from Athletico Paranaense, and could see more players enter the club’s doors before the end of the transfer market.

To finance any new transfers, the Catalan club will almost certainly need to sell off some of the squad’s players, as their financial situation remains precarious despite recent league success.

Barcelona won the 2022/23 LaLiga title after holding off the challenge of Real Madrid, but will need to be even better next season as Los Blancos’ summer transfer business will see them mount a stronger title challenge.
