Chelsea and Arsenal have spoken about the possibility of signing Kai Havertz this summer after failing to impress last season.

Havertz had a poor season with Chelsea with the team ending the season in 12th position in the Premier League table.

Chelsea signed Havertz from Bayer Leverkusen in 2020 in a deal worth £75 million and are looking to cash in on him this summer.

Chelsea is aware that this transfer window would be the best opportunity to increase Havertz's transfer fee because he has two years left on his contract.

According to reports, the Gunner have made enquiries for his availability but are yet to discuss any amount.

Chelsea look to offload players

After spending about £600 million on players since last summer, the club must recoup its costs and are currently selling some important players.

Havertz has been on the list of possible departures this summer and has been on the radar of Real Madrid in recent weeks.

The 23-year-old has shown little consistency in comparison to the level displayed while playing for Leverkusen.

In both the Club World Cup final last year and the Champions League final in 2021, he scored the game-winning goal.

He has made 91 appearances and has only scored 19 goals which could be a factor that could lead to a possible departure this summer.

Arsenal close in on Rice

Declan Rice, the captain of West Ham, led his team to victory in the Europa Conference League in what would have been his farewell game for his present club.

Sky Sports reported that Arsenal are closing in on the 24-year-old England midfielder and expects to pay a club-record sum of more than £100 million.

The Gunners are also looking to bring in January target Moises Caicedo from Brighton as they look to build ahead of next season

Arsenal had several bids for the Brighton star rejected in January but could try their luck again this summer for the 21-year-old.
