Nigerian forward Tolu Arokodare has spoken out after netting his first-ever goal for new club Wolves, marking a huge milestone in his career.

Nigerian international striker Tolu Arokodare has expressed his delight after scoring his first goal for Wolves, a landmark moment that he hopes will kickstart his Premier League career.

The £24 million summer signing’s late strike sealed a crucial 2-0 EFL Cup victory over Everton on Tuesday, providing a much-needed morale boost for the struggling Molineux side.

Arokodare's 87th-minute chip over Everton's Sam Johnstone was a moment of pure relief for both the player and the Molineux faithful.

The goal, which came after a period of pressure from the visitors, served as a potent symbol of a potential turning point in a season that has so far been marred by five consecutive league defeats.

It was a well-taken finish from the Nigerian giant that showed the composure and clinical edge Wolves have been desperately missing.

The former KRC Genk forward, who moved to England on a high-profile deadline day transfer, had yet to find his rhythm in the Premier League.

However, his performance in the EFL Cup third-round tie, which saw Marshall Munetsi also on the scoresheet, suggests he is beginning to adapt to the English game.

Speaking after the match, a visibly excited Arokodare shared his message with the fans. "Wolves fans, happy and delighted to score my first goal and thanks for the support and coming out," he said in a video shared by Wolves on X. "Hopefully, we can do it in the league again."

The result not only propelled Wolves into the fourth round of the cup but also ended a run of three consecutive defeats across all competitions.

This newfound momentum will be put to the ultimate test this Saturday when Wolves travel to London to face Tottenham in the Premier League, a match where Arokodare will be looking to carry his cup form into the league and provide the attacking impetus his team desperately needs.
