Alex Iwobi: Super Eagles star backs himself over Declan Rice, Pedri in key stat
Alex Iwobi has been one of Nigeria's most consistent players over the past few years. His transformation from a pacey winger to a versatile, all-action playmaking midfielder has been exciting to watch.
Iwobi's confidence is one of his best assets, and it was on full display during an interview with The Shinguards, where he was asked to "stay silent till you hear a better passer than you."
Iwobi backs his passing skills over Pedri, Declan Rice, Mikel Obi
As names like Amadou Onana, Zambo Anguissa, Wilfred Ndidi, Declan Rice, Eduardo Camavinga, John Mikel Obi, and Pedri were reeled off, Iwobi remained silent throughout, suggesting he believes he is on par with, or even better than these renowned passers.
We asked Alex Iwobi who he thinks is a better passer than himself, and his answer says it all. 🎯

If confidence was a person, it’s definitely Alex Iwobi. 😅❤️

At 29, Iwobi has developed his game at Fulham to include goals and assists.
Last season he set up 7 goals for Marco Silva's men, and scored a career high 9 goals across all competitions.
The likes of Barcelona's Pedri and Declan Rice may be seen as players with a bigger stature in the game, but Iwobi clearly believes he can hang with the very best.
At the end of the video, the Super Eagles midfielder says "You have to back yourself because if you dont believe in yourself, who will."
Nigerians will hope the former Everton man can provide the assists to unlock the defences of Rwanda and South Africa in the upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
