Ademola Lookman: Atalanta tell Galatasaray how much to pay for Super Eagles star
Serie A side Atalanta have set a firm €50 million asking price for Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman as the January transfer window looms, with Turkish champions Galatasaray leading the chase for the Super Eagles talisman
Lookman is interested in a move to Galatasaray, but the Turkish club must meet Atalanta’s financial demands, according to a report in Gazzetta dello Sport.
The 27-year-old, signed from RB Leipzig in 2022 for €15 million, openly voiced summer frustration after two bids from Inter Milan were rejected.
The temptation for Lookman to make the switch to Istanbul is reportedly linked to Nigeria national team colleague, Victor Osimhen, who is actively urging the player to join Galatasaray in January.
There is confidence among the club heirarchy that this joint effort between the two Nigerian stars will present a significant challenge to Atalanta’s resolve.
However, the Bergamo club will not budge unless their asking price is met, and will only sell the player if Galatasaray table a bid matching the established asking price, which the report confirms is €50 million.
Lookman scored 20 goals in 41 appearances last season, establishing himself as one of Europe's best wingers, but after a difficult summer, he has returned a paltry 2 goals in 12 appearances.
Lookman remains in hs prime, and a move to Turkey could be the key to a resurgence.
