Mikel Arteta no doubt has transformed Arsenal into a formidable team this season but there are still some loop holes in his managerial style which cost the team the Premier League title.
Arsenal continued their disappointing run of form after losing their penultimate match to Nottingham Forest by 1-0 on matchday 37 in the Premier League.
The defeat has proven Mikel Arteta does not have all it takes to handle a club with such pedigree after surrendering the title in such a manner.
The Gunners will be playing in next season’s Champions League and they need a better manager who will take the team far in the elite competition and build on the current squad to win the league.

1. Failure to switch tactics
Arteta is always relying on the inverted left-back role even when it is not working. There was always space to be exploited during the game against Liverpool.
The Reds came back from two goals down to earn a point despite Arsenal’s dominant display in the first half at Anfield.

At a particular period in the season, the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Thomas Partey were fagged out and it affected their respective performances.
Arteta should have seldomly opted for Leandro Trossard, Eddie Nketiah and Reiss Nelson to ease the workload on other stars.
3. Late and ineffective substitutions
It is one thing to make a substitution, it is another thing to make it at the right time. Arteta was sometimes slow to ringing changes in the team when things are not going according to plan.
Alexandr Zinchenko could have have been taken off during the draw at Liverpool, he made the defensive error that gave the Reds the psychological advantage.
Saka was not effective during the loss to Man City, the England winger should have been substituted for Trossard whose qualities can add more bite to the attack.
4. Inability to manage big players
Arteta in his years at the Emirates has shown that he does not have maturity to handle senior players he met before he was employed.
Mesut Ozil was the first to be axed by the Spanish gaffer, later on Pierre-Emerik Aubameyang who was loaned out to Barcelona.
