The Matchroom boss will make a play to get Joshua and Wilder under the same promotion.

British sports promoter and chairman of Matchroom Sports Edward Hearn is preparing a massive coup to land American professional boxer Deontay Wilder.

The 38-year-old Wilder revealed earlier in the week that his now a free agent at this stage in his career.

Wilder has been with Al Haymon and the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) since the start of his career after the 2008 Olympics.

Hearn to recruit Wilder

Hearn made his intentions about recruiting Wilder known in an interview with IFL TV after the monster featherweight battle between Leigh Wood and  Mauricio Lara in Nottingham.

Wilder says Joshua does not want to fight him, set to fight Ruiz,

The British promoter stated that he is going to make a play for Wilder now he is a free agent.

Hearn also explained that if he is able to get Wilder a fight against former Mexican champion Andy Ruiz is the most likely arrangement to get him back into the ring.

He said, "I would love to make Deontay Wilder against Andy Ruiz I think he's a great fight it's been ordered and we'd love to try and make it happen."

The World Boxing Council (WBC) has ordered a fight between Wilder and Ruiz but negotiations between the two fights have stalled.

The winner of a potential fight between Wilder and Ruiz would get the mandatory position o take on WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.

Ngannou is ready to take on Wilder next.

Hearn promoter of British boxer of Nigerian descent Anthony Joshua now aims to add Wilder to the bathroom stable of fighters.

Wilder joining Matchroom would make potential fight fans have been clamoring for against Joshua easier to negotiate.

Despite Hearn admitting he intends to recruit Wilder, the American boxer is already chasing  Cameroonian-French professional mixed martial artist Francis Ngannou.

Ngannou the former Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) heavyweight title holder is a free agent just like Wilder and contact has already been established on social media with terms being negotiated.
