Nigerian boxer Efe Ajagba gets a split decision win against Guido Vianello.

Against fellow Olympian and longtime sparring partner Guido Vianello of Italy, Nigeria's Efe Ajagba emerged victorious.

Following ten heavyweight rounds, Vianello was declared the winner by one judge, 96-94, but Ajagba was declared the winner by two more judges.

Guido "The Gladiator" Vianello lost against Efe Ajagba in a 10-round split decision in a battle for their continued importance.

The two heavyweights, both 29 years old, used to spar with each other.

They performed admirably, with Ajagba responding to win the middle rounds and Vianello getting off to a strong start.

In terms of total punch count, Ajagba prevailed over Vianello, largely through his jab, while Vianello prevailed through power blows.

Near the end of the second quarter, Ajagba's slow start rapidly picked up speed when Vianello executed a right over the former Nigerian Olympian's lowered left hand. Ajagba escaped, but not before strolling to the incorrect corner.

Ajagba managed to get his legs under control in the third, but in the final ten seconds of the round, he was caught again.

Ajagba started employing his jab more frequently in the fourth game. He caught Vianello with a right uppercut.

Ajagba pushed the former Italian Olympian back into the ropes in the fifth round by striking Vianello with a clean left to the body.

In the sixth, Vianello started to appear listless, taking hits with greater ease and putting up little opposition.

Within the first thirty seconds of the seventh, Vianello's head twisted as Ajagba delivered a right uppercut followed by a left one.

Ajagba's performance was enough to earn a split decision victory.
