See why Anthony Joshua believes he is a better fighter than Deontay Wilder before the meet this December.

In December, a fight between Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua is slated for Saudi Arabia.

The fight, which has been building for seven years, is something Joshua is getting ready for.

The heavyweight champion celebrated his comeback to the ring by defeating Jermaine Franklin by unanimous decision at the O2 Arena in April.

This victory was the first of three fights in a three-fight strategy intended to return the two-time heavyweight world champion to the top of the division.

When AJ said less than a week later that he won't be out until December, it seemed as though those intentions had been changed shortly after the victory.

There have been many rumors in heavyweight boxing about a fantastic four-man tournament with its top fighters, Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder, Oleksandr Usyk, and Tyson Fury

It has been speculated that Usyk and Fury's undisputed title bout, which would be a historic occasion for the sport, may take place the same night as Joshua and Wilder's fight.

Anthony Joshua bounced back from 2 defeats against Usyk by defeating Jermain Franklin after 12 rounds of action.

Against Andy Ruiz Jr. in 2019 and in his rematch with Usyk last summer, the gold medalist from the 2012 Olympics fought twice in Saudi Arabia.

According to Joshua, their intentions to house four of its biggest stars under one roof are bold but extremely doable.

Anthony Joshua on Deontay Wilder

Since Joshua won his first world championship in 2016, collecting the IBF belt after knocking out Charles Martin on one of his most lauded career nights, Joshua and Wilder have been headed toward each other.

The WBC title was won by Wilder a year earlier, and he successfully defended it ten times before Tyson Fury ended his reign in February 2020.

After 6 months out, Wilder announces he will return to the ring shortly.

The expectation for them to meet increased after Joshua won the IBF, WBA, and WBO titles simultaneously in 2018, but an agreement was never reached.

Despite the fact that both men have subsequently lost their world championships, interest in one of the sport's biggest fights still exists.

Joshua said, "He is good, I respect him, I don’t undermine him. That will make me raise my game,’ Joshua said of The Bronze Bomber.

"I respect what he has done and what he has done in this division. It is hard to become a champion and he did it so I have to respect that.

"It’s going to be a tough fight but I am confident in myself. I’m a better, more well-rounded athlete, a better, more well-rounded fighter.

"In terms of it getting delivered [from my side], I honestly believe it is 95 percent there."

The statement by Joshua comes after Wilder promised a three-round knock out victory in Saudi Arabia.
