An astonished Madison Square Garden crowd watched as Maxey, trailing by six with 28 seconds remaining in regulation, scored a rare four-point play with 25 seconds remaining and then made a 35-foot 3-pointer with 8.1 seconds left to level the game at 97.

Joel Embiid led the 76ers, who will host Game 6 on Thursday, with 19 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists, and nine turnovers.

In the absence of Antetokounmpo and Lillard, the Bucks had a well-rounded performance, with each starter scoring in double figures.

Cavs beat Magic

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Orlando Magic 104-103 to grab a 3-2 lead in their Eastern Conference series thanks to 28 points from Donovan Mitchell and a key block from Evan Mobley in the closing seconds.

With 3.2 seconds left, Mitchell, who had scored 14 points in the fourth quarter, was fouled and hit two free throws to increase Cleveland's lead to 104-100.

After dropping their first two away games, the Cavs recovered at home and will have a chance to defeat the Magic in Game 6 on Friday in Orlando.

Cleveland was missing starting center Jarrett Allen due to a bruised rib, but Max Strus scored 16 points and Mobley added 14 points and 13 rebounds.
