The Sacramento Kings recorded a 140-120 blowout victory against the Houston Rockets in an NBA fixture played in the early hours of Tuesday, February 7, 2023.
The Kings were on a mission after suffering back-to-back defeats to the Indiana Pacers and New Orleans Pelicans.
In a matchup away against the worst team in the western conference, the Kings set a fast tempo to take the first quarter and establish a seven-point lead.
The domination of the Rockets continued in the second quarter as the Kings increased their lead to 17 going to the halftime break.
The Rockets were better on the defensive end in the third quarter and were able to cut the lead to 11.
Rookie Keegan Murray made big shots in the fourth quarter as the Kings held off a comeback by the Rockets to record a 20-point blowout victory.
The victory keeps the Kings fourth in the west as they aim to secure home advantage for their first playoff campaign in over 15 years.
Metu shines for the Kings in win against Rockets
Nigerian basketball star Chimezie Metu continues to be given an opportunity by Head Coach Mike Brown.
Metu featured for the Kings bench unit in the victory away against the bottom western conference seed.
The Nigerian was given the responsibility of guarding Alperen Sengun when he checked in and held his own.
Metu featured for 14 minutes against the Rockets and contributed four points, three rebounds, and two assists.

Metu showed his defensive versatility with two blocks and was efficient on offense making two of his three shots.
The Nigerian forward is expected to return to action for the Kings as they take on the Rockets in a rematch scheduled for Thursday, February 10, 2023.
