Letsile Tebogo got the track world excited again after shattering his 400m PB in a new world-leading time.

Letsile Tebogo is in the best form of his life. This time, he shattered his 400m Personal Best (PB) with a new world-leading 44.29s for a resounding victory at the ASA Athletics Grand Prix in South Africa.

The Botswana double sprints medallist ran an easy well-controlled race to cut down his PB from 44.75s, winning way ahead of world junior champion Anthony Pesela, who came in second in 45.93s.

Tebogo has been in outstanding form this season, kicking off the year with a new World Record of 30.69s at the Simbine Curro Classic in South Africa.

The time broke Wayde van Niekerk's previous WR of 30.81s set in 2017, smashed Michael Johnson's 30.85s set in 2000, and Usain Bolt's 30.97s in 2010.

With his 400m performance, Tebogo is now a top favourite and Noah Lyles's strongest challenger for the Olympic sprint titles in Paris, and perhaps break Bolt's WR of 19.19s.
