Ese Brume will aim for two things when she competes at the Suzhou Diamond League against a respectable field of jumpers.

Olympic medallist Ese Brume will lead a formidable long jump cast in her 2024 Diamond League debut in Suzhou on April 20th.

The Nigerian field queen will be gunning for her first Diamond League victory against a field of talented jumpers; while also targeting an automatic Olympic ticket.

Ese Brume will compete in her first Diamond League meet of the season in Suzhou

In the field listed, Brume tops the season's list with her best performance of 6.84m in February, though she jumped farther with 6.92m (+3.9m/s) to successfully retain her historic African Games title in Ghana.

With the stakes higher and yet to officially meet the Olympic standard, the multiple global medallist will have to be at her best against American Quanisha Burks, Spanish sensation Fatima Diame, Budapest bronze medallist Alina Rotaru-Rottman, who are all capable of claiming victory on any day.

Notwithstanding, Brume has all it takes to make a statement against her other rivals who won't be present, and the goal of having her best finish at a Diamond League event (previous best finishes were placing second in Eugene in 2022 and 2023) is highly possible.
