Favour Ofili is the new World Record holder in the women's 100m event.
Nigeria's star girl Favour Ofili blazed her name to the history books, after breaking the women's 150m World Record at the Adidas Atlanta City Games on Saturday afternoon May 17.
Competing in the event as the favourite for the win, Ofili lived up to expectations with an outstanding performance, powering clear of Tamari Davis for victory in a jaw-dropping time of 15.85s to smash the previous World Record of 16.23s set by the legendary Shaunae Miller in 2018.
By doing this, the 22-year-old became the first woman in history to go below the 16-second mark and certify her name as a major force to keep an eye on for the rest of the season and ahead of the World Championships in Tokyo this summer.
The 22-year-old has had an impressive start to the year so far, progressing from indoors to the outdoor season, with her highlight at the Grand Slam Track in Miami, where she finished third overall in the short sprints category.

Nigeria's Star Girl Favour Ofili made her long-awaited debut at the Grand Slam Track in Miami and earned herself a whooping sum of $25,000.
She clocked a windy 10.94s to finish third in the 100m and iced it with an impressive 22.27s in the 200m behind Olympic champion Gabby Thomas and in-form Melissa Jefferson-Wooden.
Having agonizingly finished sixth in the Paris Olympics 200m final, Ofili will be gunning to change her fortunes this year at the World Championships in Tokyo, which if she medals, will finally see her come into her own and highly rated in the elite league of the world's best female sprinters.
Ofili has now joined Tobi Amusan in the history books as Nigeria's only World Record holders.
