53-years-old athletics legend Chioma Ajunwa set to get married legally, 28yrs after historic Olympic gold
Retired Nigerian athletics legend and former footballer Chioma Ajunwa-Okpara has announced she's getting married legally, 28 years after her historic Olympic gold medal.
The 53-year-old icon made history at Atlanta 1996 Olympics, when soared her way to the long jump gold medal, hence she became the first and only Nigerian and also the first black African woman to attain such a feat in the Games history.
Ajunwa took to her X page to make her status known with the caption:
"So today I will be legally married!

Since her retirement, Ajunwa has been fully a member of the Nigerian Police Force and remains the only woman to compete at the FIFA Women's World Cup as a footballer and the Olympics as a track and field athlete.
Ajunwa remains the Nigerian record holder in the 60m at 7.02s, and her Olympic gold-medal winning mark of 7.12m in the long jump remains the second-best in African history behind Ese Brume's National Record of 7.17m.
