Shericka Jackson tops the list of some of the world's best female sprinters set to light up the track at Doha Diamond League.

The women's 100m at the Doha Diamond League will be a firecracker as some of the world's best female sprinters such as Shericka Jackson, Sha'Carri Richardson, and Dina Asher-Smith, have been selected to light up the tracks.

Top on the list is Jamaica's Shericka Jackson, the world 200m champion and 100m silver medallist from Oregon. Jackson had a slow start to the 2023 season but made a huge statement at the Velocity Fest in Kingston last week, blazing to a world-leading time of 10.82s.

She will be gunning for another victory but will have a tough challenge from US sprints sensation Sha'Carri Richardson, who clocked a jaw-dropping windy 10.57s (4.1m/s) at the Miramar Invitational - the third fastest all-conditions time in world history.

Jackson and Richardson are favourites for the win. However, US champion Melissa Jefferson is another bet to cause an upset. Jefferson defeated Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah in her first 200m race of the season at the Tom Jones Invitational, having a lifetime best of 10.82s in the 100m and wind-aided 10.69s, she cannot be brushed aside for a famous win.

Great Britain's Dina Asher-Smith will be making her outdoor 2023 debut in Doha. Asher-Smith had a fantastic indoor season where she smashed the British 60m record twice - first in Karlsruhe with 7.04s and lowered it to 7.03s in Birmingham.

The speedster will be aiming to kick off her outdoor season on a winning note by racing for a significant victory in Doha.

Also listed in the stacked field is former NCAA standout athlete Abby Steiner, who has been focusing more on the 200m this season. Steiner will be making her Diamond League debut in Doha, so a fast time and good position finish will be memorable to begin her Diamond League campaign.

New Zealand's Zoe Hobbs is in fantastic shape this season after running a blistering 10.97s at her country's championships - becoming the first sprinter from New Zealand to go under the 11 seconds mark. She's also a good challenger for a surprise upset in Doha.

Finally, USA's duo of Twanisha Terry and Teahna Daniels completes the start list and are events favourites as well, with Terry having a wind-aided SB of 10.83s this season.

The women's 100m in Doha will surely be a fast race as athletes officially fine-tune their preparations, ahead of the World Championships in Budapest.
