Nigerian female wheelchair tennis players have qualified for the 2023 World Cup.
Nigeria's team qualified for the World Cup on Saturday after defeating Moroccan opponents at the MKO Tennis Center in Abuja.
Nigeria's Chitura Nwaozuzu defeated Samira Benmchi effortlessly 6-3, 6-4, while her partner and Nigeria's No. 1 Kafayat Omisore defeated Morocco's top seed Najuna Awane in the rubber 6-1, 6-4, 6-3 to set eyes on Portugal.
In the men's category, Nigeria lost the tickets to their Moroccan counterparts.
Wasiu Yusuf lost gallantly to Himan Said 7-5, 7-4, while Nigeria's number one, Alex Adewale, lost to Louad Bouzhim 6-1, 7-5.
We Need Nigerians' support in Portugal - Kafayat
Nigeria's female No. 1, Kafayat, said they needed Nigerians' support to excel in Portugal.

"We are going straight to Portugal. We are grateful for all those that made it possible. She called on Nigerians to rally round the team to enable it make impact at the World Cup," she begged.
The male team may have to rely on wild cards if any will be given by the ITF, for the World Cup to sail through.
The BNP Paribas World Team Cup 2023 was hosted by the Nigeria Tennis Federation at the Tennis Center, Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja.
The event was an ITF qualification event for African Countries to compete to qualify for the Wheelchair Tennis World Cup. Over seven countries are expected to participate include; Egypt, Morocco, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Ghana, Cameroon, and Nigeria.
