Manchester United have reportedly cooled their interest in Napoli forward Victor Osimhen.
Spending £100 million or more for the Super Eagle is understood to be a major reason why United are no longer keen on signing the striker. The Red Devils will now consider other targets as they continue to search for a dependable goalscorer.
🚨 Napoli have increased their asking price for Victor Osimhen to €160m in anticipation of a bidding war for the 24-year-old striker.

The need to have a top-level striker has been made a priority with Anthony Martial and Wout Weghorst struggling in front of goal.
Since Cristiano Ronaldo left, United have not been able to get an equally consistent goalscorer, and they have heavily relied on Marcus Rashford. The England international has not disappointed, though, as he is the club’s top scorer.
With Weghorst expected to return to Burnley, United are looking for someone to fill the void. They have been linked with Harry Kane and Osimhen, but with their interest in the Nigerian cooling, eyes will be keen to see who will be the next striker at Old Trafford.
Osimhen – with 28 goals - played a critical role as Napoli also won the Serie A title for the first time in 33 years.
On the other hand, Kane has been an outstanding star at Tottenham Hotspur as he has been phenomenal in front of goal even though the club is terribly struggling. But United face a probable hurdle in signing Kane, as Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy wants Kane to remain at the club for one more season.
He is also carrying a huge price tag, and given that he is about to turn 30, United might consider him a short-term asset rather than a long-term one, which they hope to get.
Osimhen would have been a medium- to long-term signing, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis is understood not to be ready to sell him.
Goncalo Ramos of Benfica as well as Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt have emerged as targets for United.
