"We'll do everything possible to win the World Cup" - Rúben Neves promises to honour Diogo Jota

The Portuguese international forward and his brother, André Silva, died on July 3rd in a car accident in Spain.

Jota had recently married his bride, Rute Cardoso, just two weeks prior, a joyous occasion he celebrated publicly on social media.

Neves has declared his ambition to win the 2026 World Cup with Portugal and intends to dedicate this victory to Diogo Jota.

"I've already played in a World Cup and I told everyone it was the toughest competition I've ever played in.

"We were already very keen to win it for Portugal, and now we have even more motivation. The strength he gave us on the pitch, known for his grit, determination, and drive, I think each of us has inherited a bit of that from Diogo.

We will do our best so he can win this title with us," he said in an interview with Sport TV's Futebol Arte, via Abola.
