‘We have not competed’ - Valencia manager not pleased with Sadiq, others performance in Barcelona demolition
Barcelona handed Valencia a heavy 5-0 loss in the quarterfinals of the Copa del Rey on Thursday night.
Ferran Torres' hat-trick and goals from Fermin Lopez and Lamine Yamal helped Barcelona easily defeat Valencia.
The defeat saw Valencia hit heavily twice against Barcelona after suffering a 7-1 thumping in Laliga.
Corberán react to loss
Carlos Corberán, the manager of Valencia CF, asked Sadiq Umar, Max Aarons, and Iván Jaime to improve during the news conference held after the game.
When asked to assess the performance of winter arrivals Sadiq, Aarons and Jaime, he said, "The assessment is that we all have to give much more, because we have not competed, performed, played at the level of the match, the tie and what the fans needed."
During the just-ended transfer window, Sadiq, Aarons, and Jaime were loaned in from Real Sociedad, Bournemouth, and FC Porto.
The Nigerian international substituted Rafa Mir with 19 minutes remaining in what was his seventh appearance for Valencia in all competitions.
Sadiq will be aiming to get back to winning ways when they play CD Leganes in the first tier of Spain on Sunday.
