Wharton to Real Madrid?

Wharton’s maturity on the pitch has drawn comparisons with some of the great midfielders of recent years. His style aligns perfectly with Real Madrid’s philosophy, which prioritises players who can balance creativity with defensive responsibility.

His skill in linking defence to attack and his refined technique make him a strategic long-term signing, capable of filling the void left by Kroos while adding fresh dynamism to the squad.

However, Crystal Palace want to extend his contract beyond 2029 and currently has an exit clause reportedly exceeding €80 million, making a move challenging in the short term.

Despite interest from the Spanish club, and other top clubs, including Manchester City and reportedly Manchester United, Wharton has publicly expressed his desire to continue developing at Crystal Palace before taking a step to a bigger European stage.
