Tudor, 47, steps in to replace Thomas Frank, who was dismissed on Wednesday after just 8 months.

The new manager's contract will run until June, and his first test will be a crucial North London derby against Arsenal next Sunday.

Tottenham appoint Igor Tudor

Speaking to the club's official website, Tudor acknowledged the challenge ahead. "It is an honour to join this club at an important moment," he stated. "I understand the responsibility I have been handed, and my focus is clear: to bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match."

He added, "There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly."

Tudor inherits a team in a precarious position, sitting 16th in the Premier League table, just five points clear of the relegation zone after an eight-game winless streak in the league.

His predecessor, Thomas Frank, was relieved of his duties after only eight months, with a 2-1 home loss to Newcastle marking the end of his tenure. Despite domestic struggles, Frank did guide Spurs to the Champions League last 16 by finishing fourth in the league phase.

Tottenham's sporting director, Johan Lange, expressed confidence in the new appointment.

"Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact," Lange said. "Our objective is straightforward—to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League."

Tudor has been without a club since his departure from Juventus in October, where he was sacked after a seven-month spell that ended with the team in eighth place and on an eight-game winless run.
