Sha’Carri Richardson has shared a heartfelt message praising her boyfriend, Christian Coleman, as she celebrated Valentine's Day.
The former world 100m champion and Christian Coleman sparked dating rumours following their first date at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest. They initially kept their connection discreet.
Rumours intensified in December 2024 when they were seen together at the USATF Night of Legends, where Christian Coleman shared social media footage of them holding hands.
The romance was essentially confirmed in February 2025 during the Super Bowl, where they were seen looking affectionate and referring to each other as ‘baby.’
Their professional lives merged further when Christian Coleman joined Sha’Carri Richardson’s training camp under coach Dennis Mitchell in Florida.

Sha’Carri Richardson noted how far they have already come as a couple and expressed optimism about continuing to move forward together.
The world 100m silver medallist also took the moment to convey her affection and appreciation, marking the occasion with heartfelt wishes for Valentine’s Day.
“You have always chose to see me despite what the world wants you to believe. I have not made this journey easier for us but I plan on spending a long time doing the work to make it right. We have came wayyyy too far & we're still going forward ✨. Happy Valentines' to My King 🌹 @_coleman2,” she wrote.

However, the relationship faced its most public test in July 2025 following an altercation at the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport.
Sha’Carri Richardson was arrested on a fourth-degree domestic violence charge after security footage showed her shoving Christian Coleman and grabbing his backpack.
Despite the incident, Christian Coleman declined to press charges and stood by her, leading Sha’Carri Richardson to issue a deeply personal public apology in August 2025.
The couple demonstrated their resilience shortly after at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo, where both won gold medals in their respective 4x100m relays and were seen celebrating together on the track.
