Osimhen still creating problems for Napoli with transfer standoff
Even though Victor Osimhen led Napoli to Serie A success just two seasons ago, the club are having a lot of problems because his future is currently uncertain.
With no club willing to meet the high demands of both parties, the Nigerian forward finds himself caught in a tug-of-war between his goals and Napoli's strict valuation.
Osimhen turns down Saudi mega-millions
Although it may seem absurd to most, Victor Osimhen recently turned down an incredible mega-million-per-year offer from Al-Hilal, showing how eager the 26-year-old is to stay relevant at the top level of European football.
Napoli are now in a bind after the rejection because they have not backed down from their €75 million release clause for a player who is obviously looking to leave.
If an agreement cannot be reached, Osimhen will be called up for pre-season, which could result in an awkward reunion, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
Prior to grudgingly loaning Osimhen to Galatasaray, Napoli was embroiled in similar fruitless negotiations with Chelsea and PSG just last summer and will be eager to avoid a similar situation this summer.
European giants cautious, Galatasaray hopeful
Galatasaray isn't giving up yet, despite the difficulties. Although optimism alone won't match Napoli's valuation or the player's wage demands, club vice president Ibrahim Hatipoglu maintains that they are hopeful about keeping Osimhen.
Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus are all reportedly keeping an eye on the situation but have not made any official bids yet.
Osimhen has also not even ruled out remaining in Serie A, and his wages would be less expensive for local clubs due to Italy's Growth Decree, making Juventus a possible wild card in this transfer drama.
There is no doubt that Osimhen's impasse will keep Napoli stuck in a situation they are unable to resolve until someone steps in.
