The Ikenne Stars dropped two more points in the NPFL Championship following a dull 1-1 draw against Sunshine Stars at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.

It was the battle of the stars in the second game of the day at the NPFL Super 6 playoffs.

After a brilliant performance and comeback against defending champions Rivers United the previous matchday, the Sky Blues were hoping to seal a first win of the competition.

Remo Stars vs Sunshine Stars was a keenly contested clash.

They dominated the game from start to finish but met a spirited Akure Gunners who deservedly pushed their Ogun State counterparts all the way.

Remo Stars opened the scoring as early as the 12th minute after a well-worked training ground routine finished off by Samuel Anakwe.

However, the Blues failed to hold on to their lead as Sunshine equalised early on in the second half through a superb header from Emmanuel Lucky.

With the result, Remo Stars have now drawn all three of their matches which leaves them third on the log with three points.

Sunshine have now picked up two points from their last two games to move up to fifth on the table.
